The 9/11 Port Authority Police 20-Year Anniversary Challenge Coin commemorates the bravery and sacrifice of the Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) officers who responded to the tragic events of September 11, 2001. As the first law enforcement agency on the scene at the World Trade Center, the PAPD suffered the greatest loss of any police department that day, losing 37 officers while heroically assisting in rescue efforts.
